New Students Visit World Bank
Posted in News Story

Last week, the Department of International Health welcomed its seventh graduate cohort to the Hilltop! As part of orientation, new students were treated to a tour of the World Bank in Washington, DC. Drs. Bernhard Liese, Eva Jarawan, and Vincent Turbat — World Bank veterans, each — shared countless stories about working for the institution in Washington and around the globe.
The students saw several parts of the main building, including the atrium, board rooms, and world-famous cafeteria! Later in the afternoon, the cohort attended its first course: Epidemiologic Methods. It was a great way to kickstart the Fall semester — students learned about the role of international institutions in health and development.
