What sparked your interest in global health, and how did you hear about the M.S. in Global Health program?
I was drawn to Georgetown’s M.Sc. in Global Health program because of its strong global reputation, interdisciplinary structure, and strategic location in Washington, DC. What set it apart was the program’s ability to blend rigorous academic training with real-world impact—offering the opportunity to engage with policy institutions, global organizations, and top-tier faculty. I was particularly excited by the ability to tailor my specialization toward health financing while also exploring digital technologies—an intersection that has become central to my career in global health innovation and AI policy.
How would you depict the classroom instruction?
Classroom instruction was dynamic and deeply engaging, enriched by a diverse cohort of international students and peers from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds. This diversity brought a wealth of perspectives that sparked meaningful and thought-provoking discussions. Professors fostered an open, welcoming environment where dialogue and questions were encouraged, making the learning experience truly collaborative and intellectually stimulating.
Where did you complete your field research module and what was your project?
I completed a Thesis during the COVID-19 pandemic.
What has been your career path since completing the program?
Since completing the M.S. in Global Health at Georgetown, I’ve led and contributed to high-impact health innovation projects across global institutions. I currently serve as a Senior Analyst at Economist Impact, where I’ve collaborated on multi-million-dollar public health research initiatives with Fortune 500 companies, international organizations, and the U.S. government. I’ve authored 25+ evidence-based publications, served as a panelist at global conferences, and helped shape digital health policy through cross-sector engagement. Simultaneously, I’m pursuing an MBA at Johns Hopkins to deepen my expertise in strategy and innovation. I am now a founder of Elyon Labs, an artificial intelligence infrastructure company focused on ethical AI and innovating global health.
What opportunities were afforded by attending graduate school in Washington, DC?
Studying in Washington, DC opened unparalleled doors to policymaking circles, global think tanks, and real-world consulting work. Georgetown’s prime location allowed me to network with public health leaders, intern with Save the Children, and attend summits hosted by the World Bank and other international agencies. The proximity to decision-makers and access to a vibrant global health ecosystem translated classroom theory into immediate professional opportunities.
What stood out to you most during your experience as a student?
What stood out most was how Georgetown empowered me to fuse multiple passions into a cohesive professional trajectory. Through the program’s flexible curriculum, I was able to specialize in health financing while also pursuing my growing interest in digital technologies and innovation. This fusion of disciplines directly contributed to my success as a Senior Analyst at Economist Impact, where I now lead thought leadership initiatives at the intersection of artificial intelligence, digital health, and global policy. The program’s intellectual diversity, interdisciplinary approach, and supportive faculty made it a transformative experience.
